Punk Rock Drum Machine Comic Strip 11/24/2010
First let's start with Happy Thanksgiving. I'm not a big fan of Thanksgiving, or specifically turkey, but I'm a big fan of not going to work and being paid, so I'm thankful for that.
Art Girl returns, but so does the lame Star Wars references, so sort of a win - lose. Still this week's strip allowed me the opportunity to poke fun at Long Hair and make a hippie joke.
The thing I think I like most about this strip other than I sort of threw in some backgrounds is Punk Rock's reaction in panel 2. The antennae are very Tick-ish and make me laugh every time I look at it. Expressive antennae....I may be on to something.

Punk Rock Drum Machine Comic Strip 11/17/2010
This week's strip is done with proper comic strip dimensions. I finally looked it up.
I also touched on something that will probably be explored later, apps. I figure if a phone can have an app, why not a Punk Rock Drum Machine. There really isn't much to this week's strip, but what there is I like. I also think we have our first "sigh".
Next week, a trip to Cafe Goo, and the second appearance of Art Girl.
Recording of the latest Punk Rock Drum Machine started last week.
You've been warned.

Punk Rock Drum Machine Comic Strip 11/10/2010
And so enters Art Girl.
We couldn't have Long Hair and Punk Rock talking to themselves forever.
I wasn't sure how I was going to draw Art Girl, and in the end I gave her Goo Goo bangs with dark hair and stripey leggings. Now that I have her design down, we'll flesh out her character as the strip goes along.
To clear up any questions about her name, I chose Art Girl because when I was in college if I didn't know someone's name, I just applied the context of where I knew them, or quick descriptions. My friends in college knew exactly who I was talking about if I said names like "Art Girl", "Siouxsie clone", "Bauhaus jacket", or "Beer" (there was a scroungy looking guy that was a boyfriend of one of my roommates my freshmen year, and I never saw him without a beer, so hence his name). It wasn't meant to be cruel, just a way of keeping the conversations going.
Calling her Art Girl also accomplishes the fact that I don't have to come up with a real name, like I did with Long Hair.

Punk Rock Drum Machine Comic Strip 11/03/2010
So we start a new thread this week leading to the debut of a new character next week.
Regarding my poor art skills, I like to think of my repertoire of being that I can only draw a few types of characters, sort of like a guitarist that only knows 3 chords. Now what to do with those 3 chords is the challenge.
